Healthcare Disparities in Pediatric Surgery Among the Latinx Patient Population

The objective is to investigate several pediatric conditions requiring surgical care, such as appendicitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, spina bifida, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, idiopathic scoliosis, and others. We will study health disparities related to race, ethnicity, insurance, and SES in access to surgical care, clinical outcomes, and other healthcare services in the Cerner Real-World Data database. We aim to investigate whether Latinx patients differ in access to surgical treatment and other healthcare services compared with non-Latinx White and other racial and ethnic groups.
